Welcome to Camden Early College High School’s website!

I am very excited to be the new principal at CECHS. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to CECHS’s website for the 2020-2021 school year! My educational experience for nineteen years was primary spent as a high school Career and Technical education teacher for twelve years, Director of Career and Technical Education for three years, and an assistant principal at a high school for two years. I have spent the last year and a half being the assistant principal for Camden Intermediate School.

AT CECHS our commitment to students, parents, and the community is to provide a safe and nurturing environment, as well as advanced educational opportunities to ensure that our students are empowered and prepared to be successful in the twenty-first century. As we continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to be supportive of our students.

Listed below are the 3 options that are being discussed for re-opening schools:

  1. NC Plan A – Return to Learn – Traditional Enhanced Health/Safety Model – 100% of students will return to school for face-to-face learning. In-person learning in this option would operate with minimal physical distancing with and other public health strategies. This model aligns with the state’s Plan A option.
  2. NC Plan B – Blended Return to Learn Model – 50/50 – In person learning would occur with social/physical distancing and other public health mitigation strategies. The Re-Entry Team would use creative scheduling (alternating days, weeks, months, etc.) to accommodate transportation, facilities, and other resource capacities. This model aligns with the state’s Plan B option.
  3. NC Plan C Remote Learning Return to Learn Options – Remote learning in the current format through the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year with a decision made for the remainder of the year no later than the November board meeting. The Camden County Remote Learning planning team will provide guidance to schools on how to extend and build on the current format of remote learning. This model aligns with the state’s Plan C option.

We will keep you updated on a return plan as soon as it is finalized.

We have a staff that is hard-working and committed to serving our students through face-to-face via Zoom/Google Meet and online learning. Best wishes to each student as you excel and work towards a successful future beyond high school.

Thank you for all that you do to support CECHS and our school district. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
